Robert Follett has been a book publisher for over fifty years. He is Wolf Trapped Authors: Natan and Follett the author of six books. He retired to the mountains of Colorado to ski and hike, publish an occasional book, and work with nonprofit agencies. A mutual friend introduced him to Peter Natan. When Follett heard Natan tell the story of his brother Wolf, and saw the drawings, paintings, and cartoons of Wolf, he decided that Wolf’s story needed to be told.

Peter Natan is Wolf’s younger brother, born six years after Wolf. Peter idolized his older brother and collected all of the drawings, cartoons, and paintings that he could find. Many more were lost. When World War II began, Natan was in Palestine. He enlisted in the British Army and fought in North Africa and Italy. When the war ended Natan joined Haganah, the Jewish military force in Palestine, and helped Israel become a nation in 1948. In the 1950’s, Natan and his wife and son came to the United States and settled in Denver. Natan became a leading expert in aboriginal art and a major dealer in Southwest Indian art. But he never forgot his brother.

The Berlin-born Jew and the Midwest-born Protestant have worked together over a long time to see that Wolf Trapped got written and published.
